چکیده

Since the experimental discovery of the mass of the neutrinos [1] a legitimate question has been posed. Is there a possibility of a bound state between weakly interacting particles such as an electron and a neutrino? If the particles involved where nonrelativistic the answer would be immediate and negative. From numerical studies of the Schrödinger equation [2] the existence of a bound state produced by a Yukawa (attractive) coupling VY(r) = − g eff

Improved vector and scalar masses in the massive Schwinger model

The lowest (" vector ") and next-lowest (" scalar ") bound-state masses of the massive Schwinger model have been determined recently to a very high accuracy numerically on the lattice. Therefore, improved results for these bound-state masses from analytical calculations are of some interest. Here, we provide such improved results by employing both standard and renormal-ordered (fermion) mass pe...

Binding Energy of Scalar Bound State by Topologically Massive Interaction: Fermion and Anti-fermion System with Heavy Mass

A bound state problem in a topologically massive quantum electrodynamics is investigated by using a non-perturbative method. We formulate the Bethe-Salpeter equation for scalar bound states composed of massive fermion and anti-fermion pair under the lowest ladder approximation. In a large mass expansion for the (anti-) fermion, we derive the Schrödinger equation and solve it by a numerical meth...

Bulk Matters on Symmetric and Asymmetric de Sitter Thick Branes

An asymmetric thick domain wall solution with de Sitter (dS) expansion in five dimensions can be constructed from a symmetric one by using a same scalar (kink) with different potentials. In this paper, by presenting the mass-independent potentials of Kaluza–Klein (KK) modes in the corresponding Schrödinger equations, we investigate the localization and mass spectra of various bulk matter fields...

DYNAMICAL SYMMETRY BREAKING AND EFFECTIVE LAGRANGIANS IN SU(n) ⊗ U(1) FOUR-FERMION MODELS

The formation of scalar condensates and dynamical symmetry breaking in the SU (n) ⊗ U (1) four-fermion models (for n = 2, 3) with two coupling constants has been studied by the functional integration method. The bosonization procedures of the model under consideration are performed. The propagators of fermions and collective Bose-fields (bound states of fermions), as well as the effective Lagra...

Fermion-Higgs model with strong Wilson-Yukawa coupling in two dimensions

The fermion mass spectrum is studied in the quenched approximation in the strong coupling vortex phase (VXS) of a globally U(1)L⊗U(1)R symmetric scalar-fermion model in two dimensions. In this phase fermion doublers can be completely removed from the physical spectrum by means of a strong Wilson-Yukawa coupling. The lowest lying fermion spectrum in this phase consists most probably only of a ma...
